Rules Overview:
*This will be a competitive roleplay fed with a grading system to determine winners.
*To keep shows as interesting as possible and digestible there will be a 1,000 word limit on all show segments. (This rule can be broken if you let me know in advance)
*Monthly events only with 1 rp limit.
Word Limits:
Regular Matches: 600 word minimum - 2,000 word max.
Title Matches: 600 word min - 2,500 word max.
Title and sub heads ie locations don't count toward total words.
Tag Matches:
1 rp limit per handler.
A tag of two singles = 1 rp per person
A tag of a team handled by 1 person = 1 rp total.
One Handler vs Two handles can negotiate a 2 rp limit (quality over quantity)
*In two handler tag teams the RP grade will be averaged after individual grades.
*Sign up system, there will be a post that goes out before the card is finalized each month. This is to cut down on no shows and ensure the people who actually want to play can when it fits their schedule. There is no obligation to stick around, come have a fun one off if you want… stay if you like the way the carpet feels or whatever.
*No show with no notice will mean creative freedom for CU:LT staff for match writing. Including injuries and writing off after 2 no consecutive no shows.
*Angle exemption, life gets rough, if you and your opponent decide on an angled ending due to one or more of you being unable to meet the deadline, flag staff as soon as possible. The match will be worked on early to maintain show quality.
*No reply guys. No one wants to drop a promo then have your opponent rebuttal it all and not give you the opportunity to return fire. So the idea is you both cut your promos blind so to speak based on past interactions and events not directly replying to the RP in the current cycle.
*You have to write a fucking bio. This is a personal pet peeve here. I hate when you go to role play against someone, you haven’t had the time to read all their past rps so you slip to the roster page and load up their profile only to find some stupid shit like “Will unfold.” No… give people something to work with please.
*No use of other members' characters without explicit permission to do so.
*No racist, homophobic, sexual assault talk or any of that shit here thanks.
No Show Policy
Okay, I have been thinking this over for a while and I don’t think ‘punishing’ people for missing deadline is the best way to encourage people to write. So here is what I plan to do, if you write for a match and you are against someone who no shows - and someone else finds themselves in the same position. I will then stack up your rps against each other and work that out in the show to keep shows dynamic, things competitive and encourage people to write.
Theoretically that means if someone no shows the opener and someone no shows the main event for say the New World Championships, those two would face off for the belt on the show. It could be announced before hand after deadline or simply could happen as results unfold.
I will be grading everyone's rps anyway and it would just be a matter of stacking scores up against one another to pick a winner.
Grading Rubric:
Grading System: 30 points total
Creativity: 10
Match Relevance: 10
Character/World Building: 10
*For transparency each month a RP Grade doc will be posted on the forums. If you want additional feedback it could take some time --but feel free to DM.
